The Challenge

A national supplier of diesel, petrol, paraffin, and LP gas, needed to generate a steady flow of high-quality leads in a highly competitive, price-driven market.

While Google Ads campaigns had been running since 2021, early performance was limited by low conversion rates and incomplete tracking. Meta activity focused primarily on boosted posts, delivering visibility but little measurable return.

The business required a more structured, data-driven approach that could:

Introduced performance-driven Meta campaigns, shifting from boosted posts to structured lead generation and retargeting campaigns focused on measurable outcomes.

Year-on-Year Performance Growth
  • 2021 (Oct–Dec):
    Initial campaigns delivered early traction, with a CTR of 1.08% and a CPC of R4.02. While performance was modest, it established a foundation for scaling.
  • 2022:
    Traffic and engagement improved significantly. CTR increased to 1.93% and CPC dropped to R2.59. However, conversion rates remained low at 1.12%, highlighting the need for optimisation.
  • 2023:
    A major turning point. CTR climbed to 3.49%, while conversion rate improved to3.08%, resulting in 885 conversions. Campaign structure and targeting became more refined, driving stronger results.
  • 2024:
    Performance stabilised at a higher level. CTR increased further to 3.81%, witha reduced CPC of R1.89. Conversion tracking improvements began to provide clearer insights into lead generation.
  • 2025:
    Significant efficiency gains were achieved. CTR surged to 6.93%, and conversion rate jumped to 9.82%, resulting in 849 conversions despite lower ad spend. Meta lead generation campaigns also contributed strongly during this period.
  • 2026 (Jan–May):
    Momentum continued, with CTR reaching 7.20% and conversion rates remaining high at 8.85%, generating 596 conversions in just five months.
